Dustin and Nicki were talking together, practicing a few minor spells and such, when Ayla and Dustin came up. "We found some more!" Ryan said, his eyes shining brightly with excitement.
"More what? Chocolate bars?" Dustin asked as he threw his Hershey's wrapper on the ground. Nicki narrowed her eyes and snapped, "Don't litter!"
"Right--sorry," Dustin said, pointing his index finger at the wrapper and grinning as it erupted into flames and quickly reduced to ash. He looked back pointedly at Ryan and Ayla and repeated his question. "More what, you guys?"
"More of us!" Ryan grinned, his smile stretching. Dustin and Nicki eyed each other carefully and turned to Ayla. "Is that right?" Nicki asked, her dark eyes piercing Ayla. The older girl shrugged and mumbled, "Yeah. We did."
"Where are they?"
"In the house, Dustin. Chatting. Eating, I think."
"You let them in the house, Ayla?"
"Yes, Nicki. Is that such a problem?"
The girl shrugged. "Whatever. Let's go say hi, Dustin."
Ayla and Ryan waited as Nicki and Dustin stood, then walked back inside the house. There, a few teenagers were lounging around, conversing and munching on snacks, although they immediately stopped when Ayla and Ryan walked in.
Nicki eyed the group carefully and then clapped her hands together. "So, who do we have here?" She asked.

Ryan listened to them and rolled his eyes. He looked at Ayla and she shrugged. She suddenly waved her had and water appeared from the moisture in the air and she used it to douse the flames that Jade had conjured. "I don't want the hosue burned down," She said innocently. Ryan chuckled.

ReplyDeleteNicki growled fiercely as Gwen splashed Dustin in the face. She pointed a finger at Gwen and the girl's body went limp, causing her to faceplant into the ground. Nicki waved her hand and Gwen began to dance around, causing everyone to snicker.
ReplyDeleteThen Nicki let of her control over Gwen's body and hissed, "Never, ever do that again. I can do much worse than making you dance. You so much as let a drop of water touch Dustin and I will get you."
Dustin frowned as Nicki threatened the new people and then laid a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, let it go. She was just sticking up for her friend.."

Rose lay in the lawn across the street but bolted upright when Gwen stormed out of the house. She sat for a moment, going through her thoughts and memories. Her eyes opened with surprise when she learned that across the street were more magic-users across the street. Rose stood up and walked across the steet. She leaned against the threshold and listened to the others, learning who they were and what they could do.

But you have to earn their trust." she walked up past Gwen and focused on her target. She grasped Gwen's brain and immediately Gwen resisted, but Rose was experienced and fought back, making her stand up and wipe her eyes. She stopped crying and Rose walked back to the house, leaning against the doorframe and watching the people inside talk and move around. She wondered how long it would take for them to notice her.

Rose looked at Nicki and the others, but answered for Gwen. "The rivers been poisoned. It's obvious," she added, looking at Gwen's furious face. "Don't look at me like that. Once I hear your voice your mind is always open to me," she said. She stood up. "Im going down to the river. Don't wait up." she jogged around the house in the direction of the river.
ReplyDeleteNicki turned as Rose began to talk to her and forced Gwen to apologize, then watched, bemused, as Gwen, Haru, and Rose began to argue, and Rose then left to examine the river. Nicki chased after her and her eyes widened when she saw the blackness.
ReplyDelete"Woah. It must be polluted or something. I wonder if the waterbenders could fix it?" Nicki said. Then she shook her head and turned to Rose and politely said, "Oh, sorry. I'm Nicki Silver. Obviously you know since you heard and saw Gwen's memories."
Nicki stuck out her hand and added, "I don't really have anything to hide except for my crush on Dustin, but he already knows about it, so, it's kind of pointless. You can look if you want. Let me warn you though, I've had a very boring life, other than playing the occasional prank and making the cheerleaders at my old high school stand up and dance randomly."
Rose shook her hand. "Rose Dawson. And I'll tell you, having my power can be useful, but annoying at the same time. It saves me from long introductions, and whenever I walk in somewhere and start talking to people like I've known them my whole life, I get pretty strange looks. But whenever I hear someone's voice, all their memories and thoughts come pouring into my mind, and nothing is a secret. But I don't tell anyone about what I see unless the other person agrees. So no worries there." she added with a smile. She looked over at the river. "If Jack were here, he'd start ranting on all this pollution or whatever-the-heck-it-is." she said

I think he was murdered. He was a big enviromentalist and he could see auras. He died last month." she stared at the river, watching it roar past and wash more dead fish onto the shore.

We got separated when I was 6, and my mom found me a few years ago, but she had used my father's and my brothers life insurance, and mine, she told me. She wanted me to go to this finishing school and move to Connecticut with her. But I ran off and I haven't seen her since. It's hard to remember her. But Jack... Jack helped me with my power. I've never met anyone like him. And then he..." she trailed off, thinking on how Jack would have come up with 7 different plans to clean the river, one involving magic.

ReplyDeleteRose kept her gaze on the river. "See if you can get Ayla down here to see the river." she said. She heard Nicki walk off and slid down the bank to the water's edge. She stuck her fingers in and pulled them out. A thick layer of black liquid covered her hand. "Oil." she said. "Definately. That's why the fish are dying. And it's coming from... That direction." she got up and ran upstream, towards the direction she pointed to.

ReplyDeleteNicki ran after Rose and Gwen and then saw Dark Mages lurking around on their property. Nicki felt her anger boiling up inside her and then walked up to them and shrieked, "What do you think you're doing on my property?"
The men turned to her and the leader said, "Oh sorry miss. We didn't realize we were stepping over property lines."
Nicki saw the other men smirking and she narrowed her eyes. "I'm so sure!" She snapped nastily. "Get out!"
*sees nicki shreiking at the jerks and suddenly leaps up and front flips and blows fire into their faces* wipe those smirks off your faces and get off this territory jerks *punches fire at them yelling "BRISINGR"*

Rose saw 2 mages towards the back raise thier hands and her eyes narrowed. Suddenly one Mage grabbed his friend next to him and they both jumped into the river. They started to flail about, their clothes dragging them under. Rose smiled and punched a Mage coming up behind her. She quickly picked him up and tossed him into the river with his buddies
ReplyDelete"STOP!" Nicki screamed. She used her power to sit down Haru, Jade, Gwen, and Rose, then helped the Mages to swim out of the river and then marched them into a line with the others. Everyone struggled against her power, but she tightened her control on their bodies and said, "Alright, let's just all calm down."
ReplyDeleteOne boy, about sixteen or seventeen, spit at her and Nicki had him on the ground, rolling him around in the mud and grass.
She stopped after a few minutes and then said darkly, "I don't even want to see any of you on my property again. Stay away. We can fight back and we will fight back. Got it?"
The men gulped nervously and nodded, except for the boy, who shouted, "Never! We're the Dark Mages! This is our right! This is OUR property! You freaks don't even belong here!"
"Big talk for someone like you!" Nicki shot back. "You're a freak, just like us! You can do magic and spells, and we each have our own talents."
The other mages growled at the boy but he kept fighting back with Nicki. "ENOUGH!" She screamed. "Let's see how long it takes to break you, shall we?"
Nick released her friends and the other mages and growled to the mages, "My friends here will help you leave. I'll send you the boy in a few days. Broken, but alive."
Nicki then turned on her heel furiously, dragging the poor boy behind her, forcing him to march beside her, still under her control.
Rose watched Nicki and the kid leave, and instantly locked her gaze on the leader. "Let's move it. I don't have all day." The leader stood up and looked at the other members of his group. "You heard her. Com'on." Rose smiled in satisfaction when he didn't even try to resist her control, but it quickly turned to suspicion. "That was too easy. Something smells fishy... And it's not the fish." she thought, watching the other get up.

Nicki hauled the boy back to the house and then looked at his clothes. "Oh, now see, we simply can't have this. You're too filthy and you'll mess up the floor."
ReplyDeleteThe boy snarled at Nicki and snapped, "So what? You're all disgusting pigs anyways, what does it matter if you get dirt and mud on your floor?"
"We actually aren't disgusting pigs. We're people, just like you, except we've got powers, just like you. And because of that, I think I'll make you take off your dirty clothes and go for a dive in the funky river." Nicki giggled.
In a minute, she had the boy undress himself and wearing nothing but his boxers.
Nicki admired him briefly and said, "You know, it's a shame you're a bad guy. You're actually pretty cute."
The boy blushed and Nicki rolled her eyes. "Time for a swim!" She said, clapping her hands and forcing the boy towards the river.
Rose kept her eyes on the men but quietly answered the question. "They're planning an attack later on. Be ready." she cast her gaze on the men and walked over to the larger one. "So, Luke. Planning on jumping us, eh? Hoping to capture us and take us to your leader?" she said, bending down in his face. He avoided her glance and whispered angrily, "He'll destroy you all. One by one. Starting with you." he sneered, glaring at her. She leaned back up and took a step back. "Com'on! Let's get them off our land." she said, as more men stood up and cast hateful glances at. Suddenly a black mass appeared in front of her and a strong wind blew them all off thier feet. "OUCH! I hate it when they do that," she muttered, getting up and looking at the spiral of black winds.
ReplyDeleteNick paused as she reached the river and then motioned for the boy to jump in. She released her power on him and then said, "You've got two seconds to jump in before I throw you in myself."
ReplyDeleteThe boy shook his head. Nicki sighed. She counted to one and shoved the boy in, then shrieked as he pulled her in with him. It was cold and disgusting from all the oil in it.
Nicki crawled out of teh river quickly and then helped the boy out. She narrowed her eyes at him and said, "Okay, so you're smart. You won't be so lucky next time."
The pair trudged back to the house and Nicki asked, "What's your name? I don't want to refer to you as boy all the time."
"Dakota. My name's Dakota." He said grudgingly.
"Well then, Dakota, you can go shower first. Upstairs, second room on the left." Nicki said, smiling.

Rose got up. "Alright! Break it up people. We're just going to escorttgem off our land. No fighting intended." she said, making Haru let go of the man he had in a headlock. She had the others line up single file and march towards the end of the street.

Rose glared at Gwen. "I think it's enough that they don't have control over themselves at moment. if they attack, then I'll attack. I don't want any trouble." she said, and followed the men away from the house.
ReplyDeleteNicki stepped out of her bedroom, hair slightly damp and smelling like cinnamon. She stretched and yawned and then heard Dakota and Dustin shouting. She ran downstairs and saw Dustin throwing fire at Dakota and yelling, "Who're you!? What are you doing in here!?"
ReplyDelete"No Dustin! Stop!" Nicki yelled, grabbing Dakota's arm. "Leave him alone!"
Dustin immediately put out the flames, but his hands were still burning and filled with fire. Nicki glared at him darkly and hissed, "He may be a prisoner but we're not torturing him. Even you should know what it's like to be treated like trash."
Dustin flinched at Nicki's words and then retorted, "Fine, but keep him away from me!" He then proceeded to stomp to his room and slam the door shut.
Nicki turned to Dakota apologizingly and said, "I'm sorry. I'm afraid people won't take too kindly to you being here."
Dakota stared at Nicki and snapped, "Of course they won't stupid. I'm a prisoner here. You're all freaks, who hate me. Why are you keeping me here anyways?"
"That's....that's for me to know, and for you to find out." Nicki said. She took Dakota to her bedroom, and pointed to her closet. "That's your new bedroom. It'll also help us to keep track of you."
*walks in as he hears Nicki talking forcefully to Dustin* well well well... what did i just walk into

Nicki frowned as Haru walked in and snapped, "Mind your own business, Haru. This is between me, Dakota, and Dustin."

Rose rolled her eyes as Gwen, Jade, and Haru left. "Oh sure. Leave me by myself so I can get kidnapped. I appreciate it," she thought to herself with a snort. She got the men out of the subdivision and headed back into the house, and after a moment of going through everyone's minds she narrowed her eyes at Dakota, but walked past him and pulled up a board from the kitchen floor. Inside were cans of soda, mostly Dr. Pepper. She grabbed two and tossed the second one to Dakota. "Don't thank me yet. We're not done with you." she opened the other one and replaced the board. Rose went and sat behind the couch, where she was perfectly concealed. "Nice. I think I'll hang here for a bit," she thought, chugging her soda.

ReplyDeleteDakota glared at Nicki and snapped, "I'm going to sleep. This is ridiculous."
Nicki shrugged. "Fine, whatever, I'm tired anyways."
She led Dakota to her room, set up a bed on the floor in her closet, then set up a few spells in case he tried to escape. "Don't do anything stupid," She warned.
Dakota flipped her off and Nicki shrugged again. "Whatever." She yawned, heading towards her own bed.

where do we sleep anyways? if there isnt a place then ill be outside *graps a pillow of the couch turns then waves and lays down outside and watches stars*
